Orbit by Orbit Spatial: The Atmos Player We've Been Waiting For

Orbit Spatial has just released Orbit, a dedicated Dolby Atmos music player, and in this video I'm putting it through its paces. I walk you through the full interface, from loading ADM master files and configuring binaural output with custom SOFA files, to soloing individual objects, visualising object activity, and using the built-in head tracking via webcam or AirPods. I also take a look at the metadata PDF export feature, which gives you a detailed breakdown of every object, waveform, and automation move in your project.

My verdict? Orbit is a must-have for anyone working with Dolby Atmos music on a Mac. At just 79 British pounds — or 39 pounds with educational pricing — it's refreshingly affordable and incredibly well designed. The only minor downsides are some questionable loudness measurements and the fact that it's currently Mac only. But all in all, this is my first unconditional buy recommendation, and I think it's well deserved.
