Beat Panner by Sound Particles: Auto-Panning in 3D

A couple of days ago, Sound Particles released a brand new plugin called Beat Panner, and in this video I take a closer look at what it does and who it's actually for. As regular viewers know, I'm a big fan of Sound Particles because their plugins are built on genuine acoustic research rather than just dressed-up versions of existing algorithms. Beat Panner continues that tradition: think of it as an auto-panner for three-dimensional space, designed to make panning in immersive and spatial audio production both easy and genuinely fun. I walk through the interface inside Reaper, show how it handles multi-channel formats, and demonstrate the kind of movement you can create with it.

Along the way I cover the format flexibility, the sequencer and movement controls, and a few clever touches that make shaping motion surprisingly intuitive. I also share my honest final verdict, including the one limitation you'll want to know about before deciding whether this plugin fits your workflow. Whether you're working in 9.1.6, ambisonics, or more obscure layouts, this video should give you a clear sense of whether Beat Panner belongs on your tracks.
