AI-Made Audio Software: Who to Trust and What to Avoid

A few days ago I came across the Prosound 360 Creator, a new and very affordable piece of immersive audio software. What caught my attention wasn't the software itself but the single comment under its YouTube announcement, which dismissed it as a "vibe coded plugin." In this video I explain why that reaction is understandable but misses the point. In 2026 practically every developer uses AI in some form, so refusing to touch anything built with AI would mean uninstalling almost your entire plugin collection. I also explain why I dislike the term "vibe coding." Experienced developers like Ben Weatherill of Orbit Spatial stay firmly in charge of the AI, a state I call "flow-coding" in one of my papers.

I also share some advice for dealing with the flood of new AI-assisted audio software. As a user, look past the interface at the developer: can you trust them, and will they still be around in a year? As a developer, accept that AI has turned software into a commodity, so your value now lies in support and community rather than in the code itself. And whatever concerns you have about AI, don't let them cut you off from understanding what the technology can actually do.
